Born Fuatia Petaia on January 13, 1994, Tia Petaia is a proud Samoan artist representing both Auckland, New Zealand and Australia. Known for his vibrant energy and deep cultural pride, Tia brings the heartbeat of the islands into every song he creates. Whether it’s a high-energy Siva Samoa anthem or a soulful Gospel-inspired melody, his music is made to uplift, connect, and celebrate.

Growing up in Avondale and Flat Bush, Tia was surrounded by the sounds of legendary Samoan artists like Aniseto Falemoe, Mauto'atasi, and bands like Le La Oso and Le Evaeva Band. These influences laid the foundation for his musical journey. As his ear evolved, so did his palette — drawing in genres like Soca, Afrobeat, and Gospel, all while staying true to his roots.

Tia’s sound today is uniquely his own — blending cultural rhythm with a Gospel touch, no matter the genre. A multi-instrumentalist, he plays piano as his main instrument, with a bit of guitar and bass in his toolkit. He first stepped into the world of recording thanks to his uso Tiztana, who helped him understand the fundamentals of music production — a gift that sparked his growth as an artist and collaborator.

A proud member of his church’s worship team and a passionate fan of rugby league and union, Tia balances music with faith, family, and service. His favorite part of being an artist is the collaborative process — learning from others, growing creatively, and raising the standard with every track.

The biggest highlight of his journey so far? Watching people dance and vibe to his Siva Samoa songs across social media — and even more powerfully, seeing it in person. His dream is to take that energy back to Samoa on tour, performing for the very people who inspire his music the most.

In 2025, Tia’s focus is on consistency and collaboration. For him, music is more than sound — it’s a feeling. He wants fans to remember how his songs made them move, smile, and feel proud to be Samoan.
